Jeanne Stara, Chief Nursing Officer at Ponca City Medical Center, has been honored with an Outstanding Achievement Award from Community Health Systems, one of the nation’s leading systems of general acute-care hospitals.  The organization includes Ponca City Medical Center and over 120 other hospitals in 29 states.  The Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes hospital leaders who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to quality healthcare and operational excellence.

Stara was recognized for several accomplishments including reduction in contract labor, growth in volume, improved core measures compliance, a successful 2008 Joint Commission survey resulting in reaccreditation, and earnings growth over prior year and budget.

Stara says she is proud to lead an excellent team of nurses. 

“I am delighted to receive this award and share the honor with the entire nursing staff at Ponca City Medical Center,” she said. “We are committed to the health and wellbeing of our patients. I’m very proud to be a part of this commitment, which is demonstrated every day through the actions and attitudes of our nursing team.”
