It’s more than the newest emergency department in northern Oklahoma,
it’s a whole new kind of ER experience.

At Ponca City Medical Center, we understand that in an emergency, the last thing you want to do is wait. By nearly doubling the size of our Emergency Department and adding nine more beds, we’ve designed our new emergency department to reduce your wait and get you treated faster. And once we assess your condition, you’ll be escorted to a comfortable, private room where doctors and nurses will use advanced technology at the bedside to monitor every step of your care, to help make sure you get the treatment you need, when you need it.

New Facility

Ponca City Medical Center opened the new Emergency Department in July 2008. The new facility has many nice features including:

• 17 beds (twice as many as the former Emergency Department)
• A centrally-located nurses’ station that provides a clear view of all areas and quick access to all rooms
• Doors instead of curtains that allow physicians to diagnose and treat patients in privacy
• The latest technology to track patients and focus on making patient visits more productive and efficient
• Two large trauma rooms, an isolation room, an orthopedic room, an obstetric room, decontamination room
• Better patient flow
