Imaging ServicesPet/CT Scanner: Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is an invaluable clinical test for cancer, heart disease and neurological disorders and is available in Ponca City. PET is a molecular imaging procedure that generates pictures of the precise location and extent of disease.
By imaging the molecular, biological and functional basis for disease, PET enables a physician to detect abnormal cell growth and activity. This information aids in the early detection and improved treatment of many diseases, allowing enhanced capabilities in pre-surgical staging, elimination of invasive procedures, enhanced therapy monitoring capabilities, and a reduction in the number of diagnostic tests performed.

Digital Mammography: Digital imaging feels almost identical to conventional screening from the patients' perspective, but the digital mammography system has several benefits that women will notice including shorter exam times and a significant reduction in call-backs to obtain additional images.
With digital mammography, the radiologist reviews electronic images of the breast, using special high-resolution monitors. The physician can adjust the brightness, change contrast, and zoom in for close ups of specific areas of interest. Because they are electronic, digital mammography images can be transmitted quickly across a computer network. Digital images can also be easily stored, copied without any loss of information, and transmitted and received in a more streamlined manner, eliminating dependence on only one set of “original” films.
To supplement this technology, the hospital added a digital CAD system. The digital CAD is a Computer-Aided Detection system that highlights characteristics commonly associated with breast cancer: masses, clusters of micro-calcifications and areas of architectural distortion. When digital CAD is activated, it flags these abnormalities to help the radiologist detect early breast cancer.
