A Program Designed To Meet Your Needs
Each therapy program is set up to meet the special needs of the individual. Therapists and other professionals at Ponca City Medical Center’s Outpatient Therapy Center work hard to help our patients return to their lives. Our staff also works with the family or caregivers to help them better understand the challenges faced by their loved ones.
Each patient’s symptoms and medical history are taken into consideration and a personal treatment program is designed. Physical factors such as range of motion, endurance, and strength are evaluated.
However, what we feel separates Ponca City Medical Center’s Outpatient Therapy Center from other therapy facilities is our one-on-one approach. HOW DO WE DO THIS? We strive to meet the expectations of our patients and physicians and professional associations’ standards.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapists are educated in the interaction of all your body parts. Their hands-on approach begins with the treatment of your immediate problem. They teach you how to care for yourself by prescribing specialized exercises to stretch, strengthen and protect you from reoccurring injury. They are licensed to provide treatment for back pain, as well as aches and pains of the neck, knees, hips, shoulders and other joints and muscles. They look at your body alignment, posture and mechanics; they can even assess your work environment for proper ergonomics to correct any problems and counsel you on ways to prevent injury and disease.
Physical Therapists provide assessment and treatment of: orthopedic injuries, spinal injuries, neurological injuries, work-related injuries, wounds, pain management, and mobility disorders.
Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapy staff strives to help individuals become as self-sufficient as possible in the activities of daily life. Registered occupational therapists work closely with patients and their physician to establish realistic goals and help them lead productive, independent and satisfying lives.
